BizWatch (비즈니스워치) reported on 13 May 2026, under reporter Lee Sang-won (이상원), on how Mirae Asset Securities (미래에셋증권) has reorganized its research unit around AI. The headline translates as “AI replacing securities analysts? ‘They have become more important.’” The article is in Korean, and the translation is ours.

The firm renamed its research center the AI Research Center. It moved much of the work once done by research assistants to AI and promoted the assistants to junior analysts, who now write reports themselves.

The center’s head, Park Yeon-joo (박연주), acknowledges the limits: “It is true that AI makes errors too” (AI의 오류도 있는 것이 사실이다).

The article names no other firm and does not say which AI tools Mirae Asset uses or what they cost. The 70% figure is the firm’s and is not independently checked.
